Birkdale service

There’s no house, not in Berkeley or New Zealand, that I’d rather be in than the house of the Lord.
The most exciting event of the week, and of 2012 so far, is that my church back home C3 North Shore is launching their new service in Birkdale. And I’m going to have to miss it. If you’re around the shore, it’s going to be in Birkdale Intermediate School, 200 Birkdale Road at 11am. If you need any more details find them here.

I’m on a media fast for at least the next week, so if you don’t see me around on facebook or twitter that will be why. I’m allowed to use email and use the internet for school work and I’ve figured writing on my blog should be alright as well. I’m creating rather than consuming, so it’s slightly different. Especially if noone reads it then it’s like I’m just talking to myself. echo….echo….echo

I ♥ C3

Everyone has a story. Everyone’s very life is an incredible story of how they became who they are today. I was the C3 Your Best Life Conference at C3 Auckland last week, and we were privileged to have Pastor Phil Pringle speaking. At the start of his sermon (before?) he wandered around asking people to share why they love C3 church. There were quite a lot of answers, and all of them showed very different people and very different sides to the church. Some of them said music, some said the people were loving and welcoming, or that they felt the presence of God was there. It takes another something for each person to feel the sense of belonging. But since Phil was walking around with the mic looking for people to answer, I quickly thought of my answer.

I love C3 because it’s real and normal people connecting and loving each other and also God. I like how there’s no ‘church people’ at our church; these are the same people that you see every day. They all have their own lives, and church isn’t a separate part or add-on they go to on Sunday, but you can see that they bring church everywhere with them. I also love how people at church get over the ‘politics’ and get on with loving others and loving God. And the mind, heart and spirit of C3 is in God.

I love church, and I love C3!eryone has a story. Everyon’.com
