1. Information diet.
I like being lean, as opposed to bloated. I think I could go on a physical diet as well, eat healthier foods and cut out the junk. But this year especially I want to focus on an information diet. Information can be good, knowledge is better and wisdom is better still. There’s a lot of info out there, and information leads to knowledge, and ‘knowledge is power.’ It can be hard to say no to know.
But it got to the point where I would spend all this time binging and snacking on information and not allow enough time for digestion and absorbing. Soaking all that up and doing stuff based on it.
So resolution is to limit the time I spend consuming information and therefore also be selective of what I take in. Especially when it’s the junk variety (facebook).
2. Me + God to the next level.
Leaving the comforts of your own church is like leaving your spiritual nest, especially since unlike my home I’ve grown up in the one church (well they moved twice as well.) Any sort of change takes some getting used to but it’s given me a chance to get closer to my own faith. I’ve had to find how big a piece of God is mine and how much was He of others.
The God that’s got me here so far, I want more. It’s going to take a more focused and thorough study of the scriptures and prayer. And my prayer will be Lord make me more like Jesus. That’s a little ambitious isn’t it. Well that’s the way I like it then. “And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:2
